At the tower of Babel, "the whole world had one language" and refused to be "dispersed" (Gen 11:1,4). The LORD "came down", confused their language, and "dispersed them over the face of all the earth" (Gen 11:9).

However, in Acts 2, when the believers were in "one place" (Acts 2:1), that which "came from heaven" ended with them being "filled with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:4). The believers began to speak in other languages such that the listeners (to their surprise) heard it "in his own native language" (Acts 2:8).

REFLECTION: There is now a world changing message of salvation that is to be preached and be "scattered" outwards from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). Is my life much connected with the declaration of this message?

The power of the Holy Spirit is evident in Peter–he "stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem" (2:14).

This was remarkable because (a) Just about 50 days before, Peter denied Jesus 3 times before "a servant girl" (Luke 22:56-57) and 2 others；(b) The Jews, through the Romans, NAILED Peter's Master–Jesus, to the cross and the disciples scattered in fear; (c) NOW in Acts 2:14 Peter dared to stand up and testified before the VERY people who had just RECENTLY crucified his Master!

APPLICATION: God's message of salvation is to be preached to the ends of the earth through the power of the Holy Spirit. Be courageous, be GLOBAL in outlook and persevere, wherever you are. This is to fulfil the promises that "EVERYONE who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21).

在巴别塔的时候，“全世界只有一种语言”,人们不愿意“分散”在全地(创11:1,4)。耶和华“下去”，混乱他们的语言，还“把他们分散在全地上”(创11:9)。

然而，在使徒行传2章，当信徒都“聚集在一起”(徒2:1)时，那“从天而来”的使到信徒都“充满圣灵”(徒2:4)。信徒继续用别的语言说出话来以致听的人(大为吃惊)听到“他们从小所用的本乡话”(徒2:8)。

反思:现在改变世界的救恩信息必须被传讲，且必须从耶路撒冷“分散”出去直道地极(徒1:8)。我们的生命与这信息的宣告有连接吗？

圣灵的大能已显明在彼得身上-他“和十一使徒站起来，他高声对众人说：“犹太人和所有住在耶路撒冷的人哪，你们应当明白这件事，也应该留心听我的话”(徒2:14)。

这是很了不得的，因为(a)大约50天前，彼得在一个“使女”和另外两人面前三次不认耶稣(路22:56-57)；(b)犹太人通过罗马人钉死了主耶稣在十架上，使徒们害怕地四处逃窜；(c)现在在使徒行传2:14,彼得竟然敢站出来，在刚刚钉死他的主的同一批人面前作见证！

应用：神救恩的信息必须透过圣灵的大能传到地极。要勇敢、有世界观并持之以恒，无论你在何处。这是为了要完成“凡求告主名的，都必得救”的应许(徒2:21)。
