The theme verse is Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
It starts with "But" because the disciples were thinking of "the kingdom to Israel" and former glories (Acts 1:6) rather than being "witnesses ... to the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8). More specifically, the role of being "witness to his resurrection" (Acts 1:22).
REFLECTION: What are we witnessing in our lives today? For who are we doing it?
We did not see Jesus physically, but we can still be witnesses to the ongoing transformations that are "powered" by the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.
APPLICATION: Be empowered by the Holy Spirit: Read God's Word diligently and ask for God's help through His Spirit to enable you to obey Him.
Acts 1:8 was not totally new. It was the Father's will all along. If we combine 3 passages from Isaiah, we get Acts 1:8:-
Firstly, Isa 42:1, "Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations."
Secondly, Isa 43:10-12, "YOU ARE MY WITNESSES,” declares the LORD... "YOU ARE MY WITNESSES,” declares the LORD..."
Thirdly, Isa 49:6 "he says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
OBSERVATION: Isaiah continues to be featured prominently in our QT for Matthew to John. It greatly influences Acts. In fact, Acts 28:26-27 closes the book with Isaiah 6:9-10!
APPLICATION: To the ends of the earth, we are willing and here we come.

主题经文是使徒1:8,“可是圣灵降临在你们身上，你们就必领受能力，并且要在耶路撒冷、犹太全地、撒玛利亚，直到地极，作我的见证人。”
经文是以“可是”开头因为使徒们都在思想“以色列的国度”和之前的光荣(徒1:6)而没有想到要作见证人直到地极(徒1:8)。具体来说，是当“耶稣复活的见证人。”(徒1:22)。
反思:今天，我们在生命中作了什么见证？我们又是为谁作见证？
我们的肉眼没有看到耶稣，但我们在每一天的生活中，仍可以为那圣灵“降临”所带来的改变作见证人。
应用：被圣灵充满:每天勤读神的话语并请求祂藉着祂的灵帮助你顺服祂。
徒1：8不完全是新概念。这一直都是父的旨意。如果我们把三段以赛亚的经文结合起来，将会得到使徒行传1:8:-
首先，赛42:1，“看哪！这是我的仆人，我扶持他；我所拣选的，我的心喜悦他；我已经把我的灵赐给他，他必把公理带给万国。”
第二、赛43:10-12,“你们就是我的见证人，”耶和华说...“你们就是我的见证人”，耶和华说...“你们就是我的见证人，”耶和华说。
第三、赛49:6 “他说:“你作我的仆人，使雅各众支派复兴，使以色列中得保全的归回，只是小事，我还要使你作列国的光，使我的救恩传到地极。”
观察:以赛亚继续出现在我们马太福音和约翰福音的灵修中。它也大大地影响了使徒行传。事实上，使徒行传28:26-27就以以赛亚书6:9-10作为此书的结束！
应用：直到地极，我们愿意，我们来了。
