Readers are being confronted with very few choices today. Either (1) John was lying about Jesus' resurrection (if John knew it was not so), or (2) John was sincerely mistaken that Jesus' rose from the dead (if John was duped into believing it), or (3）Jesus Christ did rise from the dead.

John attempts to persuade readers that his testimony is true "so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:31).

REFLECTION: We might not say out loud that Jesus Christ did not resurrect. But do we live as if He is still dead in the tomb? What are some of the symptoms that would give us the clues on what we ACTUALLY believe?

Jesus Christ the giver of life now "breathed on them" to receive the Holy Spirit (John 20:22). This reminds us of how God designed order in the universe through His word, and created Adam too--God "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature" (Gen 2:7).

APPLICATION: Believe that Jesus is the Christ, the risen Son of God, and enjoy the abundant life in His name.

当今的读者能够选择的不多。他们可能是选择(1)约翰对耶稣的复活说了谎言(假设约翰知道这是不可能的)，或者(2)对于耶稣从死里复活，约翰真的高错了(假设约翰是被骗相信的)，或者(3)耶稣基督确实从死里复活了。

约翰试图说服读者，他的见证是千真万确的“是要你们信耶稣是基督，是　神的儿子，并且使你们信了，可以因他的名得生命。”(约20:31)

反思:我们或许没大声说耶稣基督没有复活。但我们是否把祂仿佛当作仍然死在坟墓里来过日子？有什么征兆可以让我们清晰地知道我们信的到底是什么？

耶稣基督，那赐生命的，现在“向他们吹一口气”让他们领受圣灵(约20:22)。这提醒我们神是如何透过祂的话语让宇宙有序地运行，如何创造亚当---神“把生气吹进他的鼻孔里，那人就成了有生命的活人”(创2:7)。

应用:相信耶稣是基督，神复活之子，并因着祂的名享受丰盛的生活。
