Week 14: 27/03/2023. Mon

Whatever troubles and problems are coming this week, take comfort that God is not blind—to injustices suffered by the innocent. We applaud and enjoy His mercy and justice, and sit up to be alert ourselves.

Zechariah encouraged his audience that the rival idols—those who compete with the LORD for His people's loyalty and worship, would be removed from Israel and discarded far away. In fact, there would be a change of permanent residency for wickedness as she would be "rehoused" in the land of Shinar in a specially built house to contain her.

There, wickedness will be set down "there on its base" (5:11). As we continue to rely on Jesus Christ, we have that hope to ultimately get rid of the nagging sin that entangles.

Zechariah 6:1 Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains. And the mountains were mountains of bronze. (ESV)

This glaring sight of the chariots coming out of mountains of bronze reminds us of the glory that the presence of God would create, as we let God shine on all areas of our lives. The fact that the solution came out of the mountains signified the provision and participation of God in solving the sufferings of His people.

The fact that the mountains, which signified God's presence, were bronze, possibly point to  illumination by the sun. But definitely, the vision points to God's presence in contrast with the darkness of the initial vision of Zechariah. As the chariots zips out quickly from the mountains, we ask and pray for God's presence to similarly shine through the week in clear, explicit and visible ways. Have a good week ahead.
