As Paul prepared the Corinthian church to collect a gift for the needy saints in Jerusalem by sending an advanced party, he pointed out the attitudes they should have in giving.
They should be “cheerful” (2Cor 9:7) and “willing” (2Cor 9:5), as opposed to giving grudgingly (9:5), “reluctantly” or “under compulsion” (9:7).
REFLECTION: Being concerned with WHAT we would GET in return AFTER we obey Paul's command to GIVE reveals that, ultimately, we still want to GET rather than GIVE, don't you agree?
We reap what we sow. "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully" (2Cor 9:6).
If you find it hard to be cheerful about giving, here’s something to help: The giving of material or financial gifts can result in spiritually blessed consequences. Several things will follow from the gift of the Corinthian church:
(1) Provisions from God so that they can “abound in every good work” (9:8,11).
(2) Produce thanksgiving to God (9:11).
(3) Supply the needs of the saints (9:12).
(4) Bring glory and praise to God as a result of their submission (9:13).
(5) Strengthen the bond with recipients, who would pray for them in return (9:14).
APPLICATION: Give to God's work bountifully, starting from supporting the people/work closest to you, not because you can or you have to, but because you are willing. "For God loves a cheerful giver" (2Cor 9:7).

保罗在预备哥林多教会募集爱心捐献给耶路撒冷的贫穷圣徒，预先派一队人马前往时，他指出了他们在奉献时所该持有的态度。
他们应当捐得“乐意”(林后9:7)和“不是勉强的”(林后9:5)，而不是“不乐意的”(9:5)、“为难的”或“勉强的”(9:7)。
反思：如果按照保罗的指令捐献了却很在意之后的回报，那么这就显示，我们最终还是想得到多过于想奉献，你同意吗？
我们种什么就收什么。“还有，少种的少收，多种的多收”(林后9:6)。
如果你觉得很难捐得乐意，你可以尝试这么做：捐献物质或金钱会带来属灵祝福的后果。哥林多教会的捐献就带来了以下的结果：
(1) 神把各样的恩惠多多地加给他们，使他们“凡事常常充足，多作各样的善事”(9：8，11)。
(2) 对神生出感谢的心(9:11)。
(3) 补足了圣徒的缺乏(9:12)。
(4) 因为顺服而把荣耀和赞美归给神(9:13)。
加强和接收者的关系，以致他们会为哥林多人祷告(9:14)。
应用：为神的工作多多地奉献，开始支持你身边的人/事工，不是因为你可以或你必须要，而是你真的甘心乐意这么做。“因为捐得乐意的人，是 神所喜爱的”(林后9:7)。
