Imagine facing a plot against your life—but in the middle of the night, God Himself appears and says, ‘Take courage!’ That’s exactly what happened to Paul in Acts 23. Today, we’ll see how God guides, protects, and calls us to boldly testify—even when danger surrounds us.
In Acts 23, we read of courage, God’s guidance, and divine protection.
(1) Courage from the Lord (Acts 23:11)
“Take courage,” the Lord tells Paul. Despite threats, plots, and uncertainty, God personally assures him that His plan continues: Paul is to testify in Rome just as he has in Jerusalem.
Reflection: God’s promises are not abstract—they are often spoken directly into the heart in moments of fear. Courage is not the absence of danger, but the confidence that God is present and guiding the next step.
Application: When facing trials or opposition, remind yourself that God is aware of your struggles and has a purpose for your testimony. Courage comes from trusting His plan rather than our circumstances.
(2) God’s Protection Through Others (Acts 23:16)
Paul’s nephew overhears the plot against him and risks his safety to warn him. God uses people as instruments of protection and guidance in times of peril.
Reflection: Divine help can come in surprising ways. Often, God works through the loyalty and courage of those around us to fulfill His plans.
Application: Be alert to the ways God may be using others to help or guide you. Likewise, be ready to act as God’s instrument for someone else in need.
(3) God’s Sovereignty in Justice (Acts 23:31–35)
Even under Roman authority, Paul is given a fair hearing. The careful handling of his case—night transfer, presentation before the governor, and proper custody—demonstrates God’s control over events and rulers.
Reflection: God’s plan is bigger than human plots. Even hostile powers are ultimately instruments for God’s purposes when we remain faithful.
Application: Trust that God is orchestrating your circumstances, even when surrounded by danger or injustice. Faithfulness in small and large matters ensures God’s guidance in the bigger picture.
(4) The Call to Testify
Paul’s mission is clear: testify faithfully wherever God sends him. Danger does not cancel the call; it emphasizes the need for courage, trust, and obedience.
Reflection: Each of us has a testimony to share, whether through words, actions, or enduring faith in trials. God’s guidance and protection allow us to be bold witnesses.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being our source of courage in every trial. Help us to trust Your plan, recognize Your protection through others, and faithfully testify of Your goodness, even in the midst of danger. Strengthen our hearts to follow Your leading without fear. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

(3) 神在公义中的主权（使徒行传 23:31–35）
即便在罗马当局的管辖下，保罗仍获得了公正的审讯。案件的谨慎处理——夜间押解、面见总督以及妥善看管——彰显了神对事件和掌权者的掌控。
反思：神的计划远胜于人的诡计。只要我们持守忠心，即便是敌对势力，最终也会成为神成就祂旨意的器皿。
应用：要相信神正在掌管你的处境，即使身处危险或不公之中。无论大事小事都持守忠心，便能确保在宏大图景中得着神的引导。
(4) 作见证的呼召
保罗的使命清晰明确：无论神差遣他到何处，都要忠心作见证。危险并不能取消这呼召；它反而凸显了勇气、信靠与顺服的必要性。
反思：我们每个人都有见证可以分享，无论是通过言语、行动，还是在患难中持守的信心。上帝的引导与保护，使我们能成为勇敢的见证人。
祷告
主啊，感谢祢在每次试炼中成为我们勇气的源泉。求祢帮助我们信靠祢的计划，通过他人认出祢的保护，并忠实地见证祢的美善，即使身处危险之中。求祢坚固我们的心，使我们无惧地跟随祢的引导。奉耶稣的名祷告。阿们。
