🕊️ Scripture Focus
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus says the LORD: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place. (ESV)

🔍 Reflection
In Jeremiah 22, the prophet brings a powerful word from the Lord to the kings of Judah. It’s not a word of comfort—but of warning and confrontation. The leaders of the nation had grown corrupt, greedy, and unjust. They built grand palaces but neglected justice. They enriched themselves while the vulnerable suffered.

God's heart breaks for injustice. Through Jeremiah, He makes it clear: righteousness is not optional, especially for those in positions of influence.

God says, “Do what is just and right.”

This is not just for kings or governments—it applies to all of us. Whether you’re a parent, a boss, a teacher, a student, or just a citizen—you have influence in various degrees. And God is calling you to use that influence for good.

✝️ Gospel Connection
Jeremiah points forward to the perfect King, Jesus Christ, who did everything right. He rescued the oppressed, defended the widow, welcomed the foreigner, and ultimately gave His life to save sinners.

Where Judah’s kings failed, Christ succeeded. And through the Holy Spirit, we’re empowered to live like Him: not in selfishness, but in justice, mercy, and humility (Micah 6:8).

🏃🏻 Application Questions
(1) Are there people around me who are being mistreated, ignored, or overlooked?

(2) How am I using my power or privilege—for self or for service?

(3) Do I truly reflect the righteousness of Christ in how I treat others?

🛐 Prayer
Lord, You are the God of justice. Forgive me for the times I’ve turned a blind eye to the suffering of others. Give me eyes to see injustice, a heart to care, and courage to act. May I reflect the righteousness of Jesus in every part of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

💡 Challenge
This week, identify someone in need—a lonely neighbor, a struggling parent, a migrant, a struggling teen—and find a way to serve or encourage them. Would you remunerate someone for his or her services slightly more than they ask? May you be the walking proof of God’s generosity. Let justice and mercy begin with you.
