MEDITATION: The disasters that fell on Israel was a judgment against her idolatry (Ezek 6:3-7). The sword, famine and pestilence depicted the complete punishment of a people gone astray (Ezek 6:11).

The LORD meant what He said: "I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them" (Ezek 6:10). He would "bring a sword", "destroy" (Ezek 6:3), "cast down" (Ezek 6:4), "lay the dead bodies" and "scatter your bones" (Ezek 6:5).

REFLECTION: Have we been pointed to a sin which we have just simply clung on to it for a long time but we were unwilling to abandon it? Why didn't we take a U-turn and repent immediately?

APPLICATION: Run, before the LORD carries out His threats against those who break His laws. The LORD has "been broken over their whoring heart" (Ezek 6:9). Repent, before the LORD breaks us in return. Know that He is the LORD (Ezek 6:7,10,13,14), before it is too late.

默想：临到以色列的灾难都是针对她崇拜偶像的审判(结6:3-7)。刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫是一个迷途的民族所面对的整套的惩罚(结6:11)。

耶和华是守信用的，“我说要降这灾祸在他们身上的话并不是空话”(结6:10)。他会“使刀剑临到你，毁灭你们的邱坛”(结6:3)，“使人倒在偶像面前”(结6:4)，“把尸体放在偶像面前”及“把你们的骸骨拋散在你们祭坛的周围”(结6:5)。

反思：我们是否被指出自己挣扎了很久的一项罪却到现在还不肯将之弃绝？为什么我们不立刻回转并悔改呢？

应用：逃跑吧，在耶和华还没有采取行动对付那些违背祂律例的人之前。耶和华真是“为了他们而伤痛”(结6:9)。悔改吧，在耶和华还没有惩罚我们之前。当知道祂是耶和华(结6:7,10,13,14)，在还来得及的时候。
