MEDITATION: The punishments inflicted on Israel (Ezek 7:2-3,6-9, had a purpose: that they "will know that I am the LORD" (Ezek 7:4,9,27).

The three-fold repetition of that phrase might have struck you, even as you contemplated the workings of the LORD among the people whom He loved, a people who was supposed to live in such a way that was pleasing to Him.

REFLECTION: The LORD, being the true and living God, could not and would not allow sins to be left undealt with. Have we misunderstood the kind of God the LORD is?

The LORD inflicted the mountains of Israel (Ezek 6:1-14) as well as the land of Israel (Ezek 7:1-27). Going beyond Israel, the LORD took various foreign nations too to account for their sins (Ezek 25:1-32:32).

APPLICATION: The LORD was powerful enough to punish not only Israel and Judah, but also the other nations of the Ancient Near East. Come to the LORD and order the world His way.

默想：临到以色列身上的惩罚(结7:2-3,6-9)是有目的的: 他们“就知道我是耶和华。”(结7:4,9,27)

当你在思量耶和华在祂所爱的子民当中的作为时，这重复了三次的语句或许会让你惊讶。这子民的生活本当让神喜悦的。

反思：耶和华，那又真又活的神，不可能也不会不对付罪。我们是否误解了耶和华神的属性？

耶和华把烈怒临到了以色列的山(结6:1-14)和以色列之地(结7:1-27)。在以色列之外，耶和华也让各国为自己的罪孽付出代价 (结25:1-32:32)。

应用：满有大能的耶和华不仅惩罚以色列和犹大，同时也惩罚了古代近东的其他国家。来到耶和华的面前，并按着祂的旨意在世界的每一个层面来行。
