Paul called for unity among the people of God, between Jews and Gentiles in Rome in particular in terms of behaviour. This call was based on their status before God. "Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God" (Romans 15:7).

Romans 1-11 talk about the "why", while Romans 12-16 advise readers how to live this out.

In Romans 1, we see the implications of disconnecting one's life with God. It was a choice that was made: "For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him" (Rom 1:21), despite evidence to the contrary (Rom 1:19-20).

Rejecting God in the light of much evidence pointing to Him is "ungodliness and unrighteousness" (Rom 1:18). Cutting off the Creator from one's life inevitably leads to chaos, impurity, dishonour and perversion (Rom 1:24-27).

APPLICATION: Stem the slide into chaos by connecting our lives with the living God all over again.

保罗呼吁神的子民要合一，罗马的犹太人和外邦人之间要合一，尤其是在行为上。这样的呼吁乃是出自他们在神面前的身份。“因此，你们应当彼此接纳，就像基督接纳了你们一样，使荣耀归于　神。”(罗15:7)

罗马书1-11章谈到“为什么”，而罗马书12-16章教导读者如何将之活出来。

在罗马书1章，我们看到与神脱节所产生的后果。这是一个选择:“因为他们虽然知道　神，却不尊祂为　神，也不感谢祂”(罗1:21)，尽管有证据证明他们是知道有神的(罗1:19-20)。

在众多证据指向神，而却不认祂是“不虔不义”的(罗1:18)。一个人的生命若与创造者隔绝，必然会导致混乱、污秽、不敬和妄为(罗1:24-27)。

应用：不要再陷入混乱，让自己的生命与永活的神重新接上。
