We should rejoice in good times as well as in bad times. In Christ (Phi 1:1) and for Christ (Phi 1:13), the "bad" times are only APPARENTLY so. Ironically, Paul's imprisonment advanced the gospel (Phi 1:12). Thus "speak the word without fear" (Phi 1:14).
Through the prayer of believers to God, and the help of the Holy Spirit, Paul would be "delivered" one way or another (Phi 1:19). In the end "Christ will be honoured in my body" (Phi 1:21).
APPLICATION: Do not fear but follow Christ closely in ministry for His glory.
REFLECTION: Are my "sufferings" caused by being "in Christ" and "for Christ", OR are they caused by my own refusal to obey the Word of God?
