In Hebrews 7, the writer continues to persuade you that Jesus "truly meets our need" (Heb 7:26) on the basis that Jesus is:-

(1) Holy;
(2) Blameless;
(3) Set apart from sinners;
(4) Exalted above the heavens;
(5) Jesus' sacrifice is "once for all" (Heb 7:26-27).

(6) Jesus is different: He is not from the "order of Aaron" nor the Levitical priesthood (Heb 7:11);

(7) Jesus is in fact "in the order of Melchizedek" (Heb 7:17, Psa 110:4), the order superior to Aaron's.

(8) If Jesus is of the Melchizedek order, then Jesus is superior to Abraham because Abraham paid the tithe to Melchizedek (Heb 7:9). Levi goes no where near because Levi was "still in the body of his ancestor" (Abraham) when Abraham paid that tithe.

(9) Unlike the Levites, Jesus "does not need to offer sacrifices ... for his own sins" (Heb 7:27).

What is the writer arguing for? For continuous faith in Jesus, of course.

APPLICATION: It is because God Himself has confirmed the superiority of Jesus that we should continue to be faithful to Jesus. How have you expressed that faithfulness to God in the local church of yours this week?

在希伯来书7章，作者继续劝服你，耶稣“真正能够满足我们的需要”(来7:26)，因为耶稣是：-

(1) 圣洁的；
(2) 没有玷污的；
(3) 从罪人中分别出来的；
(4) 高过众天的；
(5) 耶稣的献祭是“一次而永远的成全”(来7:26-27)。

(6) 耶稣是不一样的：他不是来自“亚伦的体系”也不是利未人的祭司制度底下的祭司(来7:11);

(7) 耶稣其实是“麦基洗德的体系”的祭司(来7:17,诗110:4),这体系是比亚伦的体系更高等的。

(8) 如果耶稣是麦基洗德的体系，那么耶稣就比亚伯拉罕更高一级因为亚伯拉罕缴纳了十分之一给麦基洗德(来7:9)。利未还不及他因为利未“还在他祖先的身体里面”(亚伯拉罕)，当亚伯拉罕缴纳十分之一时。

(9) 与利未人不同的是，耶稣“无需为自己的罪献祭”(来7:27)。

作者在为什么而争辩？当然是为了鼓励他们继续信耶稣而争辩。

应用：这是因为神自己确定了耶稣的优越性，而我们也应该继续对耶稣忠心。这一周内，你如何在自己的教会表达自己对神的忠诚？
