Imagine standing before kings, accused and chained… yet instead of defending yourself, you boldly proclaim Jesus. What gave Paul that kind of courage? In Acts 26, we discover the power of a life sustained by God and centered on the risen Christ. Let’s dive in.

Scripture: Acts 26:22–23 (ESV)
“To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.”

Devotional Thought:

Paul stands boldly before King Agrippa, not relying on his own wisdom, eloquence, or strength, but on the help that comes from God. His defense is rooted in Scripture, demonstrating that the gospel is not a new or man-made idea—it is the fulfillment of God’s promises from Moses and the prophets.

Notice the confidence and clarity of Paul’s testimony: he doesn’t exaggerate, manipulate, or fear the “small” or “great” audiences. His mission is clear—Christ’s suffering, resurrection, and the light brought to all peoples, Jew and Gentile alike. This reminds us that our calling is not to seek applause or approval, but to faithfully testify to God’s truth wherever we are, knowing He empowers us.

Reflection Questions:

(a) Do I rely on God’s help when sharing my faith, or do I depend on my own words and abilities?
(b) Am I confident in speaking God’s truth, even when it challenges the people around me?
(c) How can I point others to the “light” of Christ in my everyday life?

Application

This week, choose one situation—at work, school, or home—where you can speak or act in a way that reflects the truth of Christ’s resurrection. Trust that God will give the help you need, just as He did for Paul.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for equipping me with Your Spirit to stand firm in truth. Help me to speak boldly and faithfully, pointing others to the hope of Christ’s suffering, resurrection, and salvation. May my life and words reflect Your promises, bringing light to those who are lost. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
