The re-interpreting of the law seen in Matthew chapters 5-7 continued in Matt 12:1-14. The true meaning of Sabbath was now interpreted by the Lord of the Sabbath.
The warning of Hosea 6:6 (cited in Matt 12:7) was not heeded by the pre-exiles. Sacrificial rituals without the accompany right heart condition cut no ice with God.
Merciless orthodoxy is a contradiction of terms. The Pharisees could not see that their extreme views of Sabbath were wrong. Their response to the religious sermons of Jesus was to KILL him.
They could not see that plotting to kill Jesus after listening to His SABBATH sermon (Matt 12:14) was worse than gleaning on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1).
Isn't religious piety dangerous if not checked?
REFLECTIONS:
Why is Isaiah quoted again (Matt 12:18-21), so regularly?
Why are the responses to the healing in Matt 12:22 so diverse? One group suspects Jesus to be the Son of David while the other concludes that it is Beelzebub at work.
Why in this example (Matt 12:39-45) Jesus refused to perform the miracle?
According to 12:50, who are the real mother and brothers of Jesus?

在马太福音5-7章，我们看到耶稣重新诠释律法，到了马太12：1-14，这仍继续着。安息日真正的意义现在被安息日的主重新诠释。
何西阿6:6的警告(引用于太12:7)并没有被快被掳的人们听进去。祭祀的仪式若没有正确的心态陪衬是不能讨神喜悦的。
无情的传统无疑是一种矛盾。法利赛人无法看到自己对安息日偏激的看法是不正确的。对于耶稣所讲的有关宗教的信息，他们的反应是要把耶稣杀死。
他们并不晓得，听完耶稣关于安息日的讲道后便想设法杀死他(太12:14)比在安息日摘麦穗来得可恶(太12:1)。
对于宗教的虔诚，若不好好把关，岂不是很危险？
反思：
为什么以赛亚又再次被引述(太12:18-21),而且是不时地被引述？
为什么人们对于太12:22里耶稣所行的医治，反应不一？有一群人猜耶稣是大卫的子孙，而另一群人却认为这是鬼王别西卜的作为。
为什么在这个例子里(太12:39-45)，耶稣不肯行神迹？
根据12:50,谁是耶稣真正的母亲和弟兄？
