MEDITATION: In a sense, a building without people might seem dead. Indeed, after all the detailed descriptions of the temple, the all important resident of it was returning, the LORD Himself (Ezek 43:1-9).

The departure of the LORD's glory gave a bleak outlook to the book of Ezekiel (See Ezek 9-11). The LORD's return (Ezek 43:1-5) would bring great joy and celebration.

REFLECTION: Are we rejoicing with the LORD in His presence with His people?

The architecture and laws of the temple were to be DESCRIBED to the "house of Israel" (Ezek 43:10,11-12) in order that "they may be ashamed of their iniquities" (Ezek 43:10). The purpose statement of Ezek 40-42 was to teach those who approach the LORD of the necessity of holiness—"Behold, this is the law of the temple" (Ezek 43:12).

APPLICATION: Some things did not change: "The vision I saw was just like the vision that I had seen when he came to destroy the city... by the Chebar canal" (Ezek 43:3,1:1,3)—the requirement of ethical living to sync with the status of being God's people.

May the LORD say to His people, "I will accept you" (Ezek 43:27) as they approach Him according to the way He has provided them (Ezek 43:13-26) at each point of history.

圣殿的建筑设计和律法是刻意向“以色列家”描绘的（结43:10,11-12），这样才能“使他们因自己的罪孽而羞愧”(结43:10)。以西结书40-42章的目的是要教导那些接近耶和华的人圣洁的必要――“殿的法则是这样”(结43:12)。

应用：有些事情是不变的：“我所见的异象，好像我在他来毁灭那城的时候所见的异象一样……在迦巴鲁河边”(结43:3,1:1,3): 道德生活的要求必须与上帝子民的身份同步。

当耶和华的子民在每个历史时刻按照祂所指定的方式寻见祂时（结43:13-26），愿耶和华对祂的子民说“我必悦纳你们”（结43:27）。
