REFLECTION (1): Would you courageously point out sin (especially in your own life) in the hope of purifying the community of the people of God? John did so (Matt 14:3-4) but paid a heavy price--imprisonment. John lost his head too when Herod the tetrarch gave the dancing girl John's head "on a platter" (Matt 14:10-11)!
REFLECTION (2): In the feeding of the 5000 section (Matt 14:13-21), did you manage to catch the phrases "this is a remote place" (Matt 14:15) and "the loaves" (Matt 14:19)? Did the image of God through Moses providing bread for the Israelites of the wilderness generation come to your mind?
Jesus is the bread of life that sustains your spiritual life. "It is I" in Matt 14:27 resembles Exo 3:14 literally, "God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
REFLECTION (3): How did you respond to God this week in a manner that you have acknowledged that Jesus is God?
Little by little, the disciples' knowledge and experience of God grew. Eventually, they concluded after they got into the boat and the wind ceased, "Truly you are the Son of God" and worshiped him (Matt 14:32-33).
REFLECTION (4): Have you grown in the knowledge and experience of God and have reached the stage of acknowledging Jesus as divine, as evidenced by how you prioritise what you do and what you say this week?

反思(1):你会否勇敢地指出罪(尤其是在自己的生命里)并希望因此而让肢体得到洁净？约翰这么做了(太14:3-4)但却付出了很高的代价---被关进牢狱里。当分封王希律把约翰的头“放在盘子上”送给那跳舞的女子时，约翰便失去了他的头(太14:10-11)！
反思(2):在喂五千人那段(太14:13-21)，你是否读到这句“这是旷野的地方”(太14:15)和“五个饼”(太14:19)?你的脑海是否有闪过这样的画面，神透过摩西供应粮食给在旷野那个世代的以色列人？
耶稣是那生命的粮，那维持你灵命的粮。太14:27的“是我”与出3:14的“神回答摩西：“我是‘自有永有者’。”又说：“你要对以色列人这样说：‘那自有者派我到你们这里来。’”很相似。
反思(3):你这个星期是如何回应神的，以致显示你承认耶稣是神？
一点一滴的，门徒对神的认识和经历长进了。到后来，他们在上了船，当风平静下来后，他们才总结道，““你真是神的儿子。”。船上的人都敬拜他(太14:32-33)。
反思(4):你是否在对神的知识上和经历上有所长进并已达到那个阶段，承认耶稣是神圣的，就如你选择这个星期该优先做什么、说什么一样？
