Contrary to what the scoffers might say (2Pe 3:3), Jesus is coming again. Knowing about His coming should change our lives.

(1) Since Jesus comes again to judge the world, our LIVES ought to be holy and godly (3:11). Be diligent to be "without spot or blemish, and at peace" (2Pe 3:14).

(2) Pointing to the fact that the imminent passing away of "the heavens and earth that now exist" (2Pe 3:7), our HEARTS should not be attached to this world, our temporary home. On the other hand, we should long for Jesus’ coming and the "new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells" (3:12-13).

The day of the Lord is coming for sure. Do not be deceived by those who claim otherwise. It will come “like a thief,” when we are not expecting it.

REFLECTION: How much of your life is lived in light of Jesus’ second coming? Using a scale from 1 to 10, evaluate it yourself. (1=It does not affect my life and 10=It impacts every part of my life.)

与那些好讥笑人的所说的是相反的(彼后3:3)，耶稣要再来。当我们知道耶稣再来这件事后，我们的生命应当有改变。

既然耶稣再来是为了审判这个世界，我们的生活应当圣洁和敬虔(3:11)。你们当殷勤努力，使你们“没有污点，没有瑕疵，安然”见主(彼后3:14)。

作者指出“现在还存留的天地(彼后3:7)必定会过去，因此我们的心不应该牵系这个世界，我们暂时的家。另一方面，我们应当渴慕耶稣的到来及那“有公义在那里居住的新天新地”(彼后3:12-13)。

主再来的日子是肯定的。那些否定的，千万不要被他们骗了。这一天的来临，就会像“一个贼”一样，让人完全料不到。

反省：你的生活有多少是环绕着耶稣再来这件事？以1-10为量尺，自己省察自己。(1=这一点也不影响我的生活，10=这与我的日常生活是息息相关的。
