Matt 17:1-13 portrays that
- the "PHYSICAL realm" & the "NOW realm";
IS AS CLOSE AS
- the "SPIRITUAL realm" & "the PAST" realm.
Moses (about 1450 B.C.) and Elijah (about 900 B.C.) of the past come onto the scene and TALK to Jesus in the presence of Peter, James and John (A.D. 30+) in REAL time.
In fact, the disciples HEARD and was TERRIFIED (Matt 17:6). Somehow, Peter was able to recognise the speakers - Moses and Elijah. Peter blurts out his usual "talk before thinking" blah blahs (Matt 17:4). Why would Jesus, Moses and Elijah EVER NEED Peter's three little "tents" proposed (Matt 17:4)
But why Moses and Elijah? Perhaps Moses represents the Law and Elijah represents the Prophets. Jesus came to fulfill BOTH roles. Remember Matt 5:17? "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
The spiritual things and the eternal things the Bible talks about are NOT far away and nebulous. They are the here and now. Think about it, the consequences of what you do today are as REAL and SUBSTANTIAL from the spiritual angle as far as God is concerned.
When you do right, God is RIGHT THERE, rejoicing. When you do wrong, God is also RIGHT THERE, watching & grieving; right here, right now.
APPLICATION: Respond rightly to what God has done in the world and in your lives. He has done many things; you just need to recall and give thanks.

太17:1-13的描述如下：
那“外在的领域”和"当今的领域”；与
那“属灵的领域”和“过去的领域”是很靠近的。
摩西(约公元前1450年)和以利亚(约公元前900年)这两个历史人物来到了现场，在彼得、雅各和约翰(公元30多年)的面前和耶稣谈话。
实际上，那些门徒听了非常害怕(太17:6)。也不知为何，彼得居然能够认出这两个说话的人---摩西和以利亚。彼得像往常一样，“没头没脑”地说了一堆(太17:4)。耶稣、摩西和以利亚为何需要彼得所提议的“三个帐篷”(太17:4)?
为什么是摩西和以利亚？或许是因为摩西代表着律法，以利亚代表着众先知。耶稣是来完成这两者的职分。还记得太5:17吗？“你们不要以为我来是要废除律法和先知；我来不是要废除，而是要完成。”
圣经里提到的关于属灵的事和永恒的事并非遥不可及也不模糊。它们就在这里，此时此刻。仔细想想，从属灵的角度来看，你今天行的每一件事的后果是又真又实的。
当你行得正，神在那里，欢喜。当你犯错了，神也在那里，边看边哀痛；就在这，此时此刻。
应用：对于神为这个世界和为你所做的一切，做出正确的回应。祂所做的甚多；你只需要一一回忆、献上感恩。
