Do we believe in God's sovereignty, justice, and the fulfillment of His Word?
Scripture:
"In the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: 'Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem, “Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,” therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre…'" — Ezekiel 26:1–3a (ESV)
Reflections:
Ezekiel 26 is a sobering chapter—a pronouncement of judgment against the proud and prosperous city of Tyre. At first glance, it may seem distant from our modern lives, but if we look deeper, we’ll find a powerful warning and an invitation to trust God’s justice and sovereignty.
Tyre rejoiced when Jerusalem fell, not out of righteousness, but out of selfish ambition. They saw an opportunity for profit in the destruction of God's people. In response, God declared, “I am against you.” Those are chilling words—perhaps the most terrifying words anyone could hear from the Lord.
God raised up nations, including Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar, to bring down Tyre's mighty walls. Why? Because of their pride, arrogance, and exploitation of others' misfortune. But this is not just about an ancient city—it’s a mirror for us.
We live in a world that often celebrates the downfall of others, that profits off pain, and glorifies self over service. But God sees. He is just. And He will not allow pride to go unchallenged forever.
Gospel Connection:
The good news is that while God opposes the proud, He gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Through Jesus, we’re offered mercy instead of judgment. Jesus bore the wrath we deserved so we could stand blameless before God—not because of our merit, but because of His mercy.
Unlike Tyre, which trusted in its walls and wealth, we are called to trust in Christ alone. He is our fortress, our firm foundation, and our eternal reward.
Reflection Questions:
(1) Are there areas in your life where you’re tempted to rejoice in someone else’s failure?
(2) Where might pride be hiding in your heart?
(3) What would it look like to humble yourself today and place your trust fully in God?
Prayer: Lord, help me to learn from Tyre's fall. I confess any pride and arrogance in my own life. Forgive me for the times I have valued self over service, or rejoiced in others’ hardships. Teach me to walk humbly with You, to care for others, and to rest in the mercy You offer through Christ. You alone are my strong tower. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

反思：
以西结书26章是一段发人深省的经文——对骄傲富庶的推罗城发出的审判宣告。乍看之下，这似乎与我们现代生活相去甚远，但若深入思考，我们会发现其中蕴含着强有力的警告，以及对信靠上帝公义与主权的邀请。
当耶路撒冷陷落时，推罗欢欣鼓舞，并非出于公义，而是出于自私的野心。他们在上帝子民的毁灭中看到了牟利的良机。作为回应，上帝宣告：“我与你为敌。”这些话令人不寒而栗——或许是任何人从主那里听到的最令人恐惧的话语。
上帝兴起列国，包括尼布甲尼撒统治下的巴比伦，来摧毁推罗的坚固城墙。为什么？因为他们的骄傲、傲慢，以及对他人不幸的剥削。但这不仅仅关乎一座古代城市——它是我们的镜子。
我们生活在一个常常以他人的失败为乐、从痛苦中获利、并以自我为中心而非服务他人的世界。但上帝看得到。祂是公义的。祂不会让骄傲永远不受挑战。
福音关联：
好消息是，虽然上帝反对骄傲的人，但他赐恩给谦卑的人（雅各书4:6）。通过耶稣，我们得到的是怜悯而非审判。耶稣承担了我们应得的愤怒，使我们能在上帝面前无罪站立——不是因为我们的功德，而是因为他的怜悯。
与推罗不同，推罗倚靠城墙和财富，我们被召唤要单单信靠基督。祂是我们的堡垒，是我们坚固的根基，是我们永恒的奖赏。

(3) 今天，你如何谦卑自己，并将你的信靠完全放在上帝身上？
祷告：
主啊，求你帮助我从推罗的覆灭中学习。我承认自己生命中存在的骄傲与自大。求你赦免我那些将自我置于服侍之上，或因他人困境而欢喜的时刻。求你教导我谦卑地与你同行，关怀他人，并在你借着基督所赐的怜悯中安息。你是我唯一的坚固保障。奉耶稣的名求，阿们。
