Isaiah 51:3 For the LORD comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song. (ESV)
Listeners were told to look to the past rock from which they were hewn (51:1), to the quarry from which they originated. In troubled times, perhaps one sure way to bounce back like a fall on a trampoline, is to look to the foundational past.
Isaiah 51:2 Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for he was but one when I called him, that I might bless him and multiply him. (ESV)
For Easter Day, readers today can also refer to the works of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, as our hope for tomorrow.
Isaiah 51:7–9a [7] “Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear not the reproach of man, nor be dismayed at their revilings. [8] For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool, but my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation to all generations.” [9] Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago...(ESV)
It is true that you might have to answer to many others in your work or personal life. But the one not to be ignored was the LORD Himself—He alone does not pass or pass away with the time. Therefore, readers are told to awake. Awake to the real reality that The LORD’s righteousness and salvation would power themselves through all obstacles and hindrances in human history.
APPLICATION: Look to the past and do not forget the LORD our Maker (51:13). He would be victorious forevermore.

诚然，在你的工作或个人生活中，你可能要对许多人负责。但不可忽视的是耶和华本人--唯有祂不会随时间流逝或消逝。因此，读者要醒悟。清醒地认识到，耶和华的公义和救赎将穿越人类历史上的一切障碍和阻力，成为现实。
应用：仰望过去，不要忘记耶和华我们的造物主（51:13）。祂将永远得胜。
