God never intended every believer to be the same. Just as every part of the human body has a unique function, every Christian has a unique role in the body of Christ. Diversity is not a weakness of the church—it is one of God's greatest gifts. Let’s unpack 1Corinthians 12.

Paul begins by highlighting the differences among believers:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone." (1 Cor. 12:4–6)

Some are gifted to teach. Others encourage, serve, lead, give, show mercy, or exercise wisdom. The Holy Spirit also works in different ways through different people. God does not distribute identical gifts to every believer because His church needs every member functioning according to His purpose.

Yet Paul repeatedly emphasizes what believers share in common. There is:

• the same Spirit who gives every gift.
• the same Lord whom every believer serves.
• the same God who empowers every act of ministry.
• the same Spirit who "apportions to each one individually as he wills." (v.11)

Our gifts may differ, but our source is the same. Our ministries may look different, but our Master is the same. Our effectiveness comes not from ourselves but from God, who empowers every believer according to His perfect wisdom. Paul reminds us that spiritual gifts are never given for personal recognition.

"To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." (v.7)

Every gift is entrusted to us for the benefit of others. The question is not, "How can I stand out?" but, "How can I build up the body of Christ?"

Using the illustration of the human body, Paul shows that every member is indispensable. The eye cannot dismiss the hand, nor can the head ignore the feet. Likewise, no believer can say, "I don't need you," or, "I have nothing to offer." Every member belongs. Every gift matters. Every act of faithful service strengthens Christ's church.

When we compare ourselves with others, pride and discouragement both grow. But when we remember that God Himself has arranged the members of the body "as He chose" (v.18), comparison gives way to gratitude, contentment, and joyful service.

The beauty of the church is not that everyone is alike, but that Christ unites different people into one body, empowered by one Spirit, serving one Lord, for one purpose—to glorify God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for making me a part of the body of Christ. Help me to value the gifts You have given me without pride and to appreciate the gifts You have given others without envy. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I may faithfully serve where You have placed me. May my life build up Your church, honour my Lord Jesus Christ, and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

上帝从未打算让每位信徒都一模一样。正如人体的每个部位都有其独特的功能，每位基督徒在基督的身体中也都有其独特的角色。多样性并非教会的弱点——而是神最伟大的恩赐之一。让我们来深入探讨《哥林多前书》第12章。

保罗首先强调了信徒之间的差异：
“ 恩赐有许多种，却是同一位圣灵所赐的；5 服事的职分有许多种，但是同一位主；6 工作的方式也有许多种，但仍是一位　神，是他在众人里面作成一切。恩赐有多种，但圣灵只有一位；事奉有多种，但主只有一位；工作有多种，但使这一切在众人里面运行的，只有一位神。” （林前12:4–6）

有些人蒙恩赐教导；有些人则负责鼓励、服侍、带领、施舍、施怜悯或运用智慧。圣灵也通过不同的人以不同的方式行事。神不会将完全相同的恩赐分给每位信徒，因为祂的教会需要每位成员都按祂的旨意发挥作用。

然而，保罗一再强调信徒们所共有的：

• 同一位赐下每样恩赐的圣灵。
• 同一位主，每位信徒都侍奉祂。
• 同一位神，祂赋予每项事工以能力。
• 同一位圣灵，“他按照自己的意思个别地分给各人。”（第11节）

我们的恩赐或许各不相同，但来源却是相同的。我们的事工形式或许各异，但我们的主却是同一位。我们的功效并非源于自己，而是源于神——祂照着祂完美的智慧，赐能力给每位信徒。保罗提醒我们，属灵的恩赐绝非为了个人得荣耀。

“圣灵显现在各人的身上，为的是要使人得着益处。”（第7节）

每项恩赐都是托付给我们的，目的是为了造福他人。问题不在于“我如何脱颖而出”，而在于“我如何建造基督的身体”。

保罗以人体为喻，说明每个肢体都不可或缺。眼睛不能轻视手，头也不能忽视脚。同样，没有任何一位信徒可以说：“我不需要你”，或“我一无所能”。每个肢体都不可或缺，每项恩赐都至关重要。每一次忠心的服侍，都在坚固基督的教会。

当我们与他人比较时，骄傲和沮丧都会滋长。但当我们记起是神自己“按照自己的意思”安排了身体的各肢体（第18节），比较之心便会让位于感恩、知足和喜乐的服侍。

教会的美妙之处不在于每个人都一模一样，而在于基督将不同的人联合成一个身体，由同一位圣灵赋予能力，侍奉同一位主，为同一个目的——荣耀神。

祷告

天父，感谢祢使我成为基督身体的一部分。求祢帮助我，既不因祢所赐的恩赐而自高自大，也不因祢赐给别人的恩赐而心生嫉妒。求祢用祢的圣灵充满我，使我能在祢所安置我的地方忠心事奉。愿我的生命能建造祢的教会，尊荣我的主耶稣基督，并使祢的名得着荣耀。奉耶稣的名祷告。阿们。
