🔥 Scripture Focus: Hosea 13:4–6
“But I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt; you know no God but me, and besides me there is no savior. It was I who knew you in the wilderness, in the land of drought; but when they had grazed, they became full, they were filled, and their heart was lifted up; therefore they forgot me.” (Hosea 13:4–6, ESV)
💭 Reflection
God’s voice through Hosea in these verses is one of both deep sorrow and piercing truth. He reminds Israel — and us — of His faithful presence through the hardest seasons: “It was I who knew you in the wilderness.” The Lord doesn’t just say He “watched” them, but that He knew them. This is covenant language. It’s personal. Intimate. God saw them in their need, walked with them in drought, provided for them when nothing else could.
But then comes the tragedy: “they became full… therefore they forgot me.”
How easy it is for fullness to breed forgetfulness.
When we’re desperate, we cry out to God. But when we’re satisfied, comfortable, stable, we often begin to drift. Our hearts get “lifted up” — pride creeps in, and dependence fades. We forget the One who brought us through the wilderness in the first place.
💡 Gospel Connection
The heart of this passage is not just judgment — it’s a call to remember the Lord as the only true Saviour. “Besides me there is no savior.”
That same truth echoes forward to Christ.
Jesus is the ultimate Saviour who came to rescue not just from Egypt or drought, but from sin and death. He went into the wilderness Himself (Matthew 4), walked the road of suffering, and gave Himself fully — so that even when we forget, He would not forget us.
🔄 Personal Application
Ask yourself:
(1) Have I become “full” and forgotten God?
(2) Am I living off past faith, or am I depending on Him today?
(3) Do I remember the wilderness — not with bitterness, but as the place where God knew me and carried me?
Maybe God is calling you to repentance — not out of guilt, but as an invitation to return to your first love (Revelation 2:4). He doesn’t just want your need — He wants your heart.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You for knowing me in the wilderness. Thank You for being my Saviour, even when I forget You. Forgive me for letting comfort pull me away from You. Remind me that everything I have is from You. Stir my heart to love You not only in need, but also in abundance. I want to remember — and return. In Jesus’ name, amen.

💭 默想
上帝借何西阿发出的声音，既饱含深切悲痛，又充满刺透人心的真理。祂提醒以色列——也提醒我们——祂在最艰难的岁月里始终信实地同在：“是我在旷野认识了你们。”主并非仅说祂“看顾”他们，而是说祂认识他们。这是立约的语言，充满个人性与亲密感。神看见他们的需要，在干旱中与他们同行，在万物匮乏时供应他们。
然而悲剧随之降临：“他们饱足……因此忘记了我 。”
饱足何等轻易滋生遗忘。
当我们绝望时，便向神呼求。但当我们满足、安逸、稳定时，往往开始偏离正道。我们的心“高傲”起来——骄傲悄然滋生，倚靠逐渐消退。我们忘记了那位最初带领我们穿越旷野的主。
💡 福音关联
这段经文的核心不仅是审判，更是呼召我们记念耶和华是唯一的真救主。“除我以外，没有救主。”
这真理在基督身上得以应验。
耶稣是终极的救主，祂来拯救的不仅是埃及的奴役或旱灾，更是罪与死的捆绑。祂亲自进入旷野（马太福音4章），走过受苦之路，全然献上自己——即使我们遗忘，祂也永不忘记我们。

请自省：
(1) 我是否因“饱足”而遗忘了神？
(2) 我是否靠着过往的信心度日，还是今日仍倚靠祂？
(3) 我是否记得旷野——不是带着苦涩，而是作为神认识我、背负我的地方？
或许神正呼召你悔改——不是出于内疚，而是邀请你归回起初的爱（启示录2:4）。祂不仅要你的需求——更要你的心。

主啊，感谢祢在旷野中认识我。感谢祢成为我的救主，纵使我曾遗忘祢。求祢赦免我让安逸将我引离祢。提醒我：我所有的一切都源于祢。求祢激发我心，使我不仅在缺乏时爱祢，更在丰盛时爱祢。我愿记念——并归回。奉耶稣的名祷告，阿们。
