We are taught to be wary of too good to be true job offers, promotions or discounted goods. But not all free of charge offers are scams.
Isaiah 55:1–2 The Compassion of the LORD
[1] “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. [2] Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. (ESV)
Isaiah 55 calls on the audience to pay attention to God’s wonderful promises which He had given to David (55:3). It was because of the work done by others, or in this case His love for David, that the current audience can receive bread, wine, milk and other items of sustenance free of charge.
The concept of grace is being emphasised here. The awe and wonder of that this promise is that it is free. Just think about—we pay high price for luxury goods and other items that are ultimately made of dust or minerals listed in the chemistry periodic table. These items degenerate, rust and disintegrate over time.
However, the LORD offers a free of charge relationship that is everlasting.
Isaiah 55:6–7 [6] “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; [7] let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (ESV)
The clock ticks and its hands turn—time is running out. The prophet urges his audience to quickly accept that offer while they still can. Good offers have a time limit, be it the opportunity to embark Noah’s ark (Genesis 7:16) or accept this free of charge reconciliation and compassion of the LORD.
APPLICATION: Accept God’s offer of salvation in Jesus Christ, and face a God is that generous, welcoming and loving, and avoid His fierce justice, wrath and punishment. Accept the sin offering that the Servant has made and receive the mercy of God.
Isaiah 55:12–13
[12] “For you shall go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall break forth into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
[13] Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall make a name for the LORD,
an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” (ESV)

以赛亚书 55:1-2 耶和华的怜悯
1 唉！口渴的人哪！你们都就近水来吧。没有银钱的，你们也要来，买了就吃。你们要来，买酒和奶，不用银子，也不用付代价。2 你们为什么用银子去买那不是食物的呢？为什么用你们劳碌得来的去买那不能使人饱足的呢？你们要留心听我的话，就可以吃美物，使你们的心灵享受肥甘。
以赛亚书第 55 章呼吁听众注意上帝给大卫的美好应许（55:3）。正是因为其他人所做的工作，或者在这里是神对大卫的爱，现在的听众才能免费得到饼、酒、奶和其他食物。
这里强调的是恩典的概念。 这个应许的令人敬畏和惊奇之处在于它是免费的。试想一下，我们花高价购买的奢侈品和其他物品，最终都是由灰尘和化学元素周期表中列出的矿物质制成的。随着时间的推移，这些物品确实会退化、生锈和解体。

时钟滴答作响，指针转动，时间正在流逝。先知敦促他的听众趁现在还来得及，赶紧接受这个提议。好的提议都有时间限制，无论是登上诺亚方舟的机会（创世记 7：16），还是接受耶和华免费的和解与怜悯。
应用：接受上帝在耶稣基督里提供的救赎，面对一位慷慨、热情和慈爱的上帝，避免他的严厉的正义、忿怒和惩罚。接受仆人献上的赎罪祭，接受上帝的怜悯。
以赛亚书 55:12-13 [12] 你们必欢欢喜喜出来，平平安安蒙引导；大山小山都必在你们面前发声欢呼，田野所有的树木也都拍掌。[13] 松树要长起来代替荆棘，番石榴要长起来代替蒺藜。这要为耶和华留名，作永远不能废掉的记号。”
