May Jeremiah 36 encourage your personal reflection, trust in God’s Word, and a call to faithful response to it. God's Word Will Stand.

📖 Scripture Focus Jeremiah 36:2–3
[2] “Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and Judah and all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah until today. [3] It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the disaster that I intend to do to them, so that every one may turn from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.” (ESV)

✨ Reflection:
Shut up? Not possible. Jeremiah 36 is a powerful chapter that highlights the unchanging authority of God’s Word, even when people try to silence or destroy it.

God commanded Jeremiah to write His message on a scroll. This wasn’t just a history lesson—it was a plea. God’s desire wasn’t to condemn but to warn and save. “Perhaps,” He said, the people will listen and repent.

Baruch, Jeremiah’s scribe, faithfully wrote and read the scroll to the people. The response was mixed: some were afraid, others told the king. But King Jehoiakim, instead of humbling himself, cut the scroll and burned it piece by piece. Yet what Jehoiakim burned, God rewrote—and added more to it (Jeremiah 36:22).

🔥 Learning Points:
(1) God’s Word is unstoppable.
People may reject it, ignore it, or even destroy physical copies, but the truth of God will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8).

(2) God is merciful—even in judgment.
Before destruction comes warning. God still gives us His Word today, calling us to repentance and offering forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

(3) Our response matters.
Will we respond like Jehoiakim—proud, dismissive, resistant? Or like the few who trembled at the message?

🛠️ Application:
(1) Spend time daily in the Word. Don’t just read—listen. Ask the Spirit to convict and guide you.

(2) Share the truth, even when it’s unpopular. Like Baruch, be faithful in delivering God’s message.

(3) Repent quickly. God’s warnings are acts of mercy, pointing us back to grace.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for preserving Your Word and speaking to us through it. Help me not to resist or dismiss Your voice, but to receive it with humility. Give me courage to share it with others, and may my heart be quick to respond in repentance and obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
