Scripture Phrase Focus: Ezekiel 6:7, 10, 13, 14
“And you shall know that I am the Lord.” — Ezekiel 6:7 (ESV)
Reflection:
Ezekiel 6 is a sobering chapter. God speaks to the mountains of Israel, condemning the idolatry of His people. They had turned their backs on Him, worshipped idols, and defiled the land. So judgment was coming—not just as punishment, but as revelation.
Four times in this chapter, God says, “Then they will know that I am the Lord.” This isn’t just about wrath. It’s about restoring reverence. It’s about opening blind eyes. The Lord was not being cruel—He was being just. And in His justice, He was calling His people back to Himself.
In our lives, we often only seek God when things fall apart. But even in hardship, God’s heart is redemptive. Through brokenness, He’s saying, “I am the Lord. I’m still here. Return to Me.”
This phrase isn’t only a warning—it's a promise. It means God will not leave us in deception. He will act so that we know Him—truly, deeply, and unmistakably. Whether in discipline or deliverance, His goal is always the same: that we know Him.
Application:
(1) Are there areas in your life where you’ve drifted from God?
(2) Is He using circumstances to draw your attention back to Him?
Let’s not wait for collapse to know that He is the Lord. Let us acknowledge Him daily, in humility and trust.
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to truly know that You are God. In moments of joy and moments of discipline, help me not to harden my heart. Remove every idol in my life, and be enthroned as Lord. Let my life declare—not just in words, but in devotion—“You are the Lord.” In Jesus’ name. Amen.
