What if I told you that one historical event changes everything about your past, your present, and your future? In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul points us to the truth of first importance: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Because He lives, death is defeated, hope is certain, and your life has eternal purpose. Let's dive in.

(1) Never lose sight of the gospel

Whatever ministry we do, whatever responsibilities we carry, and whatever challenges we face, we must never forget what is "of first importance":

"Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared..." (1 Cor. 15:3–5, ESV)

The death and resurrection of Jesus are not merely the entrance into the Christian life—they remain its foundation every day. Because Christ is risen, our sins are forgiven, our hope is secure, and our labor is never in vain. The reality of the resurrection should shape our thoughts, our priorities, our decisions, and our hope throughout every day of our lives.

(2) The resurrection gives meaning and accountability to life

Paul argues that if there were no resurrection, then the logical conclusion would be, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die" (15:32). If death were truly the end, there would be no lasting purpose, no future hope, and no reason for costly faithfulness.

But Christ has indeed been raised. Therefore, death is not the end. There is a future resurrection, and every person will stand before God. What we do in this life matters because eternity is real. The resurrection gives both hope for believers and solemn accountability before God.

(3) Christ has conquered death

Death is humanity's great enemy, but it is not the final victor.

"Death is swallowed up in victory... thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (15:54, 57)

Through Jesus' death and resurrection, the sting of death has been removed for those who belong to Him. Christians still experience physical death, but it is no longer the doorway to condemnation. Instead, it has become the entrance into the presence of Christ and, ultimately, the resurrection of the body. We need not fear death because Christ has already defeated it.

(4) Therefore, abound in the work of the Lord

Paul ends the chapter with a practical exhortation:

"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." (15:58)

Because Christ is risen, perseverance is worthwhile. Every act of faithful service, every sacrifice for Christ, every quiet act of obedience, and every proclamation of the gospel has eternal significance. The resurrection assures us that our labour for the Lord is never wasted. May we never move beyond the gospel, never lose hope in the resurrection, never fear death's apparent victory, and never grow weary in serving our risen Lord.

Prayer

Heavenly Father. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for our sins and for raising Him from the dead. Help us never to lose sight of the gospel, but to live each day in the hope and power of Christ's resurrection. Strengthen us to be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in Your work, knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain. Fill our hearts with courage, joy, and faithful obedience until the day we see You face to face. In the name of our risen Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

(1) 切勿偏离福音

无论我们从事何种事工，肩负何种责任，面对何种挑战，都绝不能忘记那“至为重要的”：

“我从前领受了又传交给你们那最要紧的，就是基督照着圣经所记的，为我们的罪死了，又埋葬了，又照着圣经所记的，第三天复活了；并且曾经向矶法显现，然后向十二使徒显现。”（林前 15:3–5）

耶稣的死与复活不仅是进入基督徒生命的起点——它们更是我们每日生活的根基。正因基督已经复活，我们的罪才得赦免，我们的盼望才得以坚固，我们的劳苦也绝不会徒劳。复活的真实应当塑造我们生命中每一天的思想、优先次序、决定和盼望。

(2) 复活赋予生命以意义和责任

保罗指出，如果没有复活，那么合乎逻辑的结论就是：“我们就吃吃喝喝吧，因为我们明天就要死了”（15:32）。如果死亡真的是终点，那么生命便没有长久的意义，没有未来的希望，也没有理由为信守信仰付出沉重代价。

但基督确实已经复活了。因此，死亡并非终点。未来必有复活，每个人都将站在神面前。我们在今生所做的一切都至关重要，因为永恒是真实的。复活既给信徒带来盼望，也使我们在神面前负有庄严的责任。

(3) 基督已经战胜了死亡

死亡是人类的大敌，但它并非最终的胜利者。

“ 54这必朽坏的既穿上了不朽坏的，这必死的既穿上了不死的，那时，经上的话就应验了：“胜利了！死亡已经被吞灭 …  57 感谢　神，他借着我们的主耶稣基督，把胜利赐给我们。” （15:54, 57）

借着耶稣的死与复活，属于祂的人已经脱离了死亡的毒钩。基督徒虽然仍会经历肉体之死，但这已不再是通往定罪的门户。相反，它已成为进入基督同在的门径，并最终通向身体的复活。我们无需惧怕死亡，因为基督已经战胜了它。

(4) 因此，要在主的工作上加倍努力

保罗以一个实际的劝勉结束本章：

“所以，我亲爱的弟兄们，你们务要坚固，不可动摇，常常竭力多作主工，因为知道你们的劳苦，在主里面不是徒然的。”（15:58）

正因基督已经复活，坚持到底便值得。每一个忠心的服侍、每一次为基督作的牺牲、每一个默默的顺服，以及每一次传扬福音，都具有永恒的意义。复活向我们保证，我们为主所做的劳苦绝不会白费。愿我们永不偏离福音，永不失去对复活的盼望，永不惧怕死亡表面上的胜利，也永不在服侍我们复活的主时感到疲倦。

祷告

天父。感谢祢差遣祢的儿子为我们的罪而死，并使祂从死里复活。求祢帮助我们永不偏离福音，而是每天活在基督复活的盼望和能力中。求祢坚固我们，使我们坚定不移、不可动摇，在祢的事工上常常丰盛，深知我们在主里的劳苦绝不徒然。求祢以勇气、喜乐和忠心的顺服充满我们的心，直到我们与祢面对面相见的那一天。奉我们复活的主耶稣基督的名祷告。阿们。
