In the concluding chapter, the writer exhorts readers:-
(1). Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters (Heb 13:1).
REFLECTION (1): Is there someone you dislike? You need to ask whether that person is saved by Jesus or not? If yes, then you have to keep on loving that person as a brother/sister!
(2) Show hospitality (Heb 13:2), remember those in prison (Heb 13:3), keep the marriage bed pure (Heb 13:4), stay away from love of money (Heb 13:5).
(4) Remember your leaders who "spoke to you the word of God" and imitate their faith (Heb 13:7).
REFLECTION (2): Consider the OUTCOME of your leaders' "way of life" (Heb 13:7). Leaders should be exemplary. Followers should imitate them. That's ideal. But we know that no one is perfect. That's why Heb 13 starts with "loving one another".
(4) "Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings" (Heb 13:9).
(5) Be willing to endure disgrace for the sake of Christ (Heb 13:13).
(6) "Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you" (Heb 13:17).
APPLICATION: Think of ways of bringing joy to our leaders. Lighten their burdens. They would then be able to lead us better. It's a "win-win" situation. Focus on Jesus Christ, our ultimate leader. Keep it that way! Stand Firm on that.
http://m.bbintl.org/bible/ncv/Heb/13/
