After the resurrection, the disciples find themselves back where they started—fishing at Galilee (Sea of Tiberias). The night is long, their nets are empty, and their efforts are fruitless. These are not inexperienced men; they know their trade well. Yet even with skill and effort, they come up empty-handed. When they reach the limits of their strength and wisdom, Jesus is already at work.

Standing on the shore, Jesus tells them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some” (v.6). At His word, scarcity turns into abundance. The same sea that gave them nothing all night now overflows with provision. The difference is not technique—it is obedience to the voice of the risen Lord.

But the most striking moment comes when they reach the shore.

Before the disciples unload a single fish, they see a charcoal fire, fish already laid out, and bread prepared (vv.9–10). Jesus is not dependent on their success to provide breakfast.

He does not need their fish. He is completely self-sufficient—the Lord of creation, the Provider, the risen King.

And yet, in grace, Jesus says, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” Not because He lacks anything, but because He invites them into fellowship and participation. What they bring is not the source of provision; it is a response to grace already given.

This scene reminds us of a profound gospel truth: Jesus does not need us—but He lovingly includes us. When we are exhausted, confused, or unsure what to do next, He is never uncertain. When we have nothing to show for our efforts, He has already prepared what is needed.

The disciples once abandoned Jesus in fear and confusion. Now, Jesus welcomes them back—not with rebuke, but with a meal. Not with demands, but with provision. The One who conquered death also tends a fire, cooks breakfast, and restores weary followers.

Reflection:
How often do we believe that God’s work depends on our strength, success, or resources? John 21 reminds us that Jesus is sufficient in Himself. Our obedience matters—but it flows from His grace, not the other way around.

Prayer:
Dear God, forgive us for thinking You need our strength to accomplish Your purposes. Help us trust You when we are at our limits. Teach us to obey Your word, rest in Your provision, and joyfully bring what we have—not to earn Your favor, but in response to Your grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

复活后，门徒们回到了起点——在加利利海（提比哩亚海）捕鱼。长夜漫漫，渔网空空，劳碌无果。他们并非生手，深谙捕鱼之道。然而纵使技艺精湛、竭尽全力，仍一无所获。当他们力竭智尽之时，耶稣早已开始行动。

站在岸边，耶稣对他们说：“把网撒在船的右边，就可以得着”（第6节）。祂话语一出，匮乏化为丰盛。整夜毫无收获的同一片海，此刻竟满溢着供应。关键不在技法——而在于顺服复活之主的呼召。

但最震撼的时刻出现在他们登岸之时。

在门徒卸下一条鱼之前，他们看见炭火已生，鱼已铺好，饼也备着（9-10节）。耶稣并不依赖他们的捕获来供应早餐。

祂不需要他们的鱼。祂全然自足——是创造的主、供应者、复活的君王。

然而满有恩典的耶稣却说：“把你们刚才打的鱼拿几条来。” 并非因他缺乏什么，而是邀请他们进入团契与参与。他们所献的并非供应之源，而是对已赐恩典的回应。

这场景让我们想起一个深刻的福音真理：耶稣并不需要我们——但他满怀慈爱地接纳我们。当我们精疲力竭、困惑迷茫、不知所措时，他始终坚定不移。当我们的努力毫无成果时，他早已备妥所需的一切。

门徒曾因恐惧与困惑离弃耶稣。如今，耶稣以餐食而非责备迎接他们归来；以供应而非要求接纳他们。这位战胜死亡的主，亲自生火烹煮早餐，抚慰疲惫的追随者。

反思：
我们常误以为神的工作需倚靠我们的力量、成就或资源。《约翰福音》21章提醒我们：耶稣本是全然充足的。我们的顺服固然重要——但它源于祂的恩典，而非相反。

祷告：
亲爱的主，求祢赦免我们以为祢需要我们的力量来成就祢的旨意。当我们力竭时，求祢帮助我们信靠祢。教导我们遵行祢的话语，安息在祢的供应中，欢欢喜喜地献上所有——不是为赢得祢的喜悦，而是回应祢的恩典。奉耶稣的名求。阿们。
