MEDITATION: Ezek 32 concludes the oracles against ancient Egypt and what she represented. Ezek 32:2 warned readers against self delusion, citing the example of Pharaoh who confused "a lion of the nations" with "a dragon in the seas". This self delusion seemed to stem from pride.
Once again, the topic of pride remained fundamental. Pride was the basic inclination of the heart which manifested itself in many other forms of self-aggrandisation or self-delusion.
For this pride, the LORD God dealt with it by bringing "The sword of the king of Babylon" against Egypt (Ezek 32:11). "I will cause your multitude to fall by the swords of mighty ones, all of them most ruthless of nations. 'They shall bring to ruin the pride of Egypt, and all its multitude shall perish.'" (Ezek 32:12)
REFLECTION: Why is "pride" such a "big deal", so much so that the LORD had to deal with it using such drastic measures, sending "the multitude of Egypt" to the pit Sheol (Ezek 32:18-21)?
The LORD gave warning by citing examples of those who had gone down to the pit: Assyria, Elam, Meshech-Tubal, Edom and Sidon (Ezek 32:22-30).
Even though Pharaoh seemed to have found some comfort in the company of these nations in the pit (Ezek 32:31), believers of the LORD, however, are to find comfort in the presence of the LORD among His people. Change our thought world and choose to make this a reality.

默想：以西结32章结束了对古埃及和她所代表的一切的神谕。以西结32:2告诫读者不要自欺欺人，他举了法老误把“列国中的少壮狮子”当成“海中的海怪”的例子。这样的自欺是来自于骄傲。
在申明一次，骄傲这个课题仍然是很重要的。傲慢以许多形式表现在自我吹捧或自欺，是人心的基本倾向。
因为骄傲的原因，主耶和华以“巴比伦王的刀”来对付埃及(结32:11)。“我必借着勇士的刀使你的众民倒下，这些勇士都是列国中最强横的人。他们必毁灭埃及所夸耀的；埃及的众民都必消灭。”(结32:12)
反思：为什么“骄傲”是一件“严重的事”，以致于耶和华必须用非常手段来对付它，并让“埃及的众民”与下坑的人一同送到地府那里(结32:18-21)?
耶和华举了那些下到坑里的例子以作警告：亚述、以拦、米设--土巴、以东和西顿(结32:22-30)。
尽管法老似乎在坑里的列国中找到了一些安慰(结32:31)，然而，耶和华的信徒必须在耶和华和祂的子民中找安慰。改变我们的思想世界并作出选择使之成为现实。
