Week 16: 11/04/2023. Tue

The last reflection was that we can't jump from Friday (Suffering) to Sunday (Easter resurrection) directly. There would be a full Saturday of 24 hours of Jesus, even Jesus, in the tomb.

But the Easter message highlights the prospect of light after times of dark clouds, for those who walks with the Light.

Zechariah 8:3–4 Thus says the LORD: I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain. [4] Thus says the LORD of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age. (ESV)

More returnees were promised by Zechariah, both from the east and west (see vv. 7–8). These returnees' existence  anticipate Gentiles joining in the future.

In the light of these prophecies of Zechariah, readers are exhorted to continue with God's work, proceeding with building the physical and spiritual temple of the LORD, knowing that their efforts would not be wasted, just as the sun is always there, but only temporarily obscured by passing clouds.
