Want to know if you really love Jesus? Jesus gives us the answer Himself: ‘If anyone loves me, he will keep my word.’ And here’s the amazing part—the Holy Spirit helps us remember His Word and live it out. So, are you filling your heart with God’s Word?
What do you think about the so-called “good child” who doesn’t care a bit about what his or her parents or guardians think, wish or plan? John 14:15–31 put the challenge to believers who do not care or think that they are doing well for now: Do you obey Jesus by keeping His Word?
(1) If you love Jesus, you will know, remember, and keep His Word
Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.— John 14:23 (ESV)
Love for Christ is not merely an emotion or verbal profession. Jesus connects love for Him with keeping His Word. To love Jesus is therefore to take His teaching seriously—to know it, remember it, and seek to obey it.
This does not mean that our obedience earns Christ’s love or our salvation. Rather, obedience is the response of those who love Him. Our love for Jesus becomes visible in the way we receive and live according to His Word.
John 14:24 reinforces the seriousness of this: “Whoever does not love me does not keep my words.” The question, then, is not simply, “Do I say that I love Jesus?” but also, “Am I receiving His Word and seeking to live by it?”
(2) The Holy Spirit teaches us and brings Jesus’ Word to our remembrance
Jesus gives His disciples this promise: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”— John 14:26 (ESV)
The Holy Spirit is the Helper whom the Father sends in Jesus’ name. Among His ministries to believers is to teach and to bring to remembrance what Jesus has said.
This has an important implication for our daily Christian life: we should make a deliberate effort to fill our minds and hearts with God’s Word. The Holy Spirit can bring Christ’s Word to our remembrance precisely because His Word has first been received and treasured within us.
Scripture memorisation, meditation, regular reading, and careful listening to God's Word provide the “raw material” that the Spirit can use to remind, teach, convict, encourage, and direct us.
Application
Make God's Word part of the storehouse of your heart. Read it. Study it. Meditate on it. Memorise it. Pray through it. Revisit it throughout the day.
Do not assume that you will remember God's Word when you need it if you have made little effort to take it in beforehand. Make room in your mind and heart for Scripture.
Then, when you face temptation, discouragement, suffering, difficult decisions, or opportunities to obey Christ, ask the Holy Spirit to bring God's truth to your remembrance.
Love for Jesus leads us to keep His Word, and the Holy Spirit helps us remember and understand the Word we have received.
Reflection
What words of Jesus do I need to deliberately put into my mind and heart today so that I will be ready to remember and obey them when the need arises?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and for sending the Holy Spirit to teach us and remind us of all that Jesus has said. Help us to love Jesus by keeping His Word, and give us hearts that treasure, remember, and obey Your truth. May Your presence dwell richly in us each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

想知道你是否真的爱耶稣吗？耶稣亲自给了我们答案：‘人若爱我，就必遵守我的道。’ 而最令人惊叹的是——圣灵会帮助我们记住祂的话语并活出这些话语。那么，你是否正用神的话语充满你的心呢？
对于那些完全不在乎父母或监护人想法、愿望或计划的所谓“好孩子”，你怎么看？《约翰福音》14:15–31向那些漠不关心或自以为目前做得不错的信徒发出了挑战：你是否通过遵守祂的话语来顺服耶稣？
(1) 如果你爱耶稣，你就会认识、记念并遵守祂的话语
耶稣回答：“人若爱我，就要遵守我的话，我父必定爱他，并且我们要到他那里去，跟他住在一起。——《约翰福音》14:23
对基督的爱不仅仅是一种情感或口头上的告白。耶稣将对祂的爱与遵守祂的话联系在一起。因此，爱耶稣就是认真对待祂的教导——去了解它、记住它，并寻求遵行它。
这并不意味着我们的顺服能换取基督的爱或我们的救恩。相反，顺服是爱祂之人的回应。我们对耶稣的爱，体现在我们如何领受并遵行祂的话语上。
《约翰福音》14章24节进一步强调了这一点的严重性：“不爱我的，就不遵守我的话。”因此，问题不仅仅在于“我是否说自己爱耶稣？”，还在于“我是否领受了祂的话语，并努力遵行？”
(2) 圣灵教导我们，并使我们记起耶稣的话语
耶稣向门徒作了这样的应许：“但保惠师，就是父因我的名要差来的圣灵，他要把一切事教导你们，也要使你们想起我对你们所说过的一切话。”——《约翰福音》14:26
圣灵就是父神奉耶稣的名所差来的保惠师。祂对信徒的事工之一，就是教导并使我们记起耶稣所说的一切话。
这对我们的日常基督徒生活有着重要的启示：我们应当有意识地努力，让神的话语充满我们的心思意念。圣灵之所以能使我们记起基督的话语，正是因为祂的话语首先已被我们领受并珍藏在心里。
背诵经文、默想、定期阅读以及仔细聆听神的话语，这些都为圣灵提供了“原料”，使祂能借此提醒、教导、责备、鼓励并引导我们。
应用
让神的话语成为你心中宝库的一部分。阅读它。研读它。默想它。背诵它。通过祷告来领受它。全天随时重温它。
不要以为，若你事先没有花力气去领受神的话语，在需要的时候就能记得住。要在你的心思意念和心中为圣经腾出空间。
因此，当你面临诱惑、沮丧、苦难、艰难的抉择，或是顺服基督的机会时，要祈求圣灵让你记起神的真理。对耶稣的爱引导我们遵守祂的话语，而圣灵则帮助我们记起并明白我们所领受的话语。
反思
今天，我需要刻意将耶稣的哪些话语铭记在心，以便在需要的时候能够随时记起并遵行？
祷告
天父，感谢祢赐下祢的话语，并差遣圣灵教导我们，提醒我们耶稣所说的一切。求祢帮助我们通过遵守祂的话语来爱耶稣，并赐给我们珍视、铭记并遵行祢真理的心。愿祢的同在每天丰丰富富地住在我们里面。奉耶稣的名祷告，阿们。
