QT 09/06/2024 Sunday. Acts 28. And so we came to Rome!

Paul's journey to Rome encountered many storms, but they "were brought safely through" (Acts 28:1).
God protected His apostle, even from the viper (Acts 28:3-6). Not only did the Roman centurion showed Paul kindness (Acts 27), the chief official of Malta showed Paul much hospitality (Acts 28:7).
Therefore, Rome should not fear this religion preached by Paul, who even attended to the medical needs of others in Malta (Acts 28:8-10). Luke's point all along in Luke-Acts was that Rome should embrace this religion.
The POWER of the gospel and the God behind it was proven by these recorded statements :-
"And so we came to Rome" (Acts 28:14). What a sentence! Paul would now preach in the BACKYARD of the political power that nailed Jesus to the cross (see Gospel of Luke).
"Without hindrance" (28:31). What a sentence that ENDED Luke-Acts! Jesus Christ, who was crucified by Roman soldiers, now had an apostle preaching for Him in Rome "with all boldness".
Acts did not end with the trial of Paul and its verdict. It might not have taken place yet. But it was probably not important because Luke-Acts was about the preaching of the gospel to the ends of the earth with boldness and without hindrance ultimately, and not about Paul, you or me.
"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God." (Acts 20:24) What are you going to do with your life then?

保罗去罗马的旅程中经历了许多的风暴，但是他们都“脱了险”(徒28:1)。
神保护着祂的门徒，甚至不让毒蛇伤害他(徒28:3-6)。不光是那个罗马百夫长恩待保罗(徒27)，就连马尔他的首领也善意招待他们(徒28:7)。
所以，罗马无须惧怕保罗所传扬的信仰，保罗甚至还医治了马尔他岛上患有疾病的人(徒28:8-10)。路加在路加福音-使徒行传里所要强调的是罗马应当拥护这个信仰。
在这些记载的经文中，就可证明福音的大能和在这背后的神的存在：-
“这样，我们就来到了罗马”(徒28:14)。多么有力的一句话！保罗现在可以在这个把耶稣钉在十字架上的政治强权的后院里传福音了(见路加福音)。
“没有受到什么禁止”(28:31)。结束路加福音-使徒行传的这句话多么有力量啊！被罗马士兵钉死的耶稣基督，现在有了一个为祂在罗马“壮着胆子”传福音的门徒。
使徒行传并没有因为保罗的审讯和判决而结束。这或许还没发生。但这或许不是很重要因为路加福音-使徒行传的重点是壮胆地、毫无阻碍地把福音传到地极，重点不是保罗、你或自己。
“但我并不珍惜自己的性命，只求跑完我的路程，完成我从主耶稣所领受的职分，为 神恩惠的福音作见证”(徒20:24)。你当如何看待你的生命？
