Week 32: 04/08/2023. Fri
Recounting the deep grace of The LORD in human history, and in personal history are most effective ways to sustain a healthy relationship with The LORD.
Nehemiah 9:6 “You are the LORD, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you. (ESV)
Fighting bad attitude and ungratefulness have been challenges for human hearts all along. We started our journeys with nothing. For every good that have come into our hands and lives, we owe God much thankfulness.
As early as Genesis 1:29, the LORD had given humans abundantly "for food". Yet, instead of responding with hearts of gratitude, there was rebellion, disobedience and ingratitude.
Reflection on Nehemiah's prayer and the responses of the people on that occasion remind us of a contrast, of perhaps much difficulty for people of today to accept responsibility for wrongfulness of one's own actions, to minimize these, blame others, or even assign blame to God like Adam (Genesis 3:12).
As we celebrate 22nd Anniversary tomorrow, let us recount the deep grace of The LORD, for the community that He has placed you to belong to, so that our journeys with Him can be joyous for another year and more.
