Dustbins are best left tightly closed. A good way to settle the issue of sin is to close its lid and send away.

_Zechariah 5:10–11 Then I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they taking the basket?” [11] He said to me, “To the land of Shinar, to build a house for it. And when this is prepared, they will set the basket down there on its base.” (ESV)

Zechariah reminded readers that it is essential, and possible, to deal with sin, during his time, and even more so today. Not only did the angel thrust the personification of sin back into the basket to contain its damaging influence, another two "women" that had "wings" lifted the basket high into the air.

This vision of Zechariah's ended with the basket being carried to the land of Shinar (v.11), a place depicting idolatry, paganism, human pride and covetousness in the history of Zechariah's people. That a house was built for it showed that that place was sin's permanent residence. The basket was set down on its base.

APPLICATION: Do not give up pursuing holiness—Zechariah's vision teaches that holiness and containment of sin in our lives are demanded by God's holiness, and possible.
